The plasma air purification units are suitable for use in air handling systems such as fan coils, HVAC and other ventilation systems. The unit is managed by internal air pressure switch or interlocked with the HVAC fan operation and 3 level ionization density adjustment providing seamless operation and integration.

Simple install but in most cases should be carried out by a qualified technician.

Sizing or quantity of the Air Plasma Ionizer units will be based on the total volume of the room or facility.

What is DBD Bipolar Ionisation?

(Dielectric Barrier Discharge Bipolar Ionisation)

Ion charge molecules or atoms contained in the presence of these ions in nature, the ions only have a survival time of 30~300 seconds, but they are very active. The ion density range from 900~1100 negative ions and 1000~1200 positive ions per cubic centimeter (/cm3 ion) in the "fresh air" at the top of a mountain, and at sea we usually experience 500 negative ions and 600 positive ions per cubic centimeter [ion /cm3]. In a city building the ion levels could fall by 80% to 95%, this is extremely low levels therefore it creates a breeding ground for bacteria and mold spores, and transmission of viruses and pathogens.

Working Principle

Dielectric Barrier Discharge Bipolar Ionization purification system uses a specific voltage to convert electrons in particulate atoms in the air into charged ions. When air passes through the ionization tube, millions of positive and negative ions are formed. The negative ions contain an extra electron while the positive ions are missing an electron resulting in an unstable condition. In an effort to re stabilize, these bipolar ions seek out atoms and molecules in the air to trade electrons with, effectively neutralizing particulate matter, bacteria and virus cells, odorous gases and aerosols, and VOCs.
